BRIGHTFIELD STRATEGIES LAUNCHES INDUSTRY-WIDE COLLABORATION TO AGGREGATE CONTINGENT WORKFORCE DATA

Using Big Data from Global Workforce Transactions to Optimize Strategic Workforce Plans

NEW YORK, NY, October 6, 2014– Workforce strategy consultancy Brightfield Strategies today announced the launch of the Talent Data Exchange, a membership-based data aggregation service that enables companies to anonymously and precisely compute the cost of nonemployee labor and to test the validity of workforce strategies. The technology underlying the Talent Data Exchange breaks work assignment needs into granular bits and pieces to more precisely define job functions so companies can get a current, comprehensive, high resolution picture of the labor market.

“Companies are addressing economic uncertainty by filling more roles with contingent workers, on-demand. The Talent Data Exchange helps to ensure these decisions are cost effective and in line with a greater workforce strategy.” Jason Ezratty, Brightfield President

Today, most companies have to source temporary workers and independent contractors without verifiable insight into market dynamics or benchmarks of talent supply chain performance. The Talent Data Exchange will provide a sizable source of hard data to reliably answer these questions.

To accelerate the growth of the Talent Data Exchange, Brightfield Strategies is partnering with Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA), the leading independent research firm focused on contingent work. SIA will offer this new membership to SIA’s Contingent Workforce Strategies Council (CWS Council) members and corporate members. CWS council members comprise some of the world’s largest corporations and are among the most sophisticated buyers of contingent labor services. Furthermore, Brightfield has received the endorsement of leading companies in the contingent workforce management industry including Agile-1, Bartech, Beeline, Geometric Results, Inc. (GRI), Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), Randstad Sourceright, Strategic Staffing Solutions (S3), and TAPFIN, a Manpower Solutions company, to embrace collaboration for the betterment of workforce strategies overall.

“At Staffing Industry Analysts we constantly strive to provide better market information on the fast changing world of contingent work. We are excited to partner with Brightfield Strategies on this effort to develop better data sources and analytics on the use of contingent labor and look forward to enhancing the information flow in the marketplace.” Barry Asin, President, Staffing Industry Analysts

The Talent Data Exchange will be operational in January, 2015 but Brightfield is already receiving data from exchange members. Working directly with buyer organizations, Brightfield seeks to aggregate as much of the $100 billion in annual contingent workforce spend globally transacted in Vendor Management Systems. SIA estimates the total global contingent workforce market at $3 trillion.
